- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup milk
- 2 cups peeled and diced apples
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a large bowl.
- Mix melted butter, egg, and milk in another bowl until smooth.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, folding gently until just mixed.
- Fold in the diced apples carefully using a spatula.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan, then sprinkle with half of the remaining apple pieces.
- Top with the remaining batter and the rest of the apples on top.
- Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before removing from the pan.
- Mix powdered sugar with milk for the glaze and drizzle over the cooled bread.
Notes
For a deeper flavor, consider using brown sugar. You can swap apples with pears or berries.
