Ingredients
- Tortillas: 4 large flour tortillas
- Apples: 2 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and diced
- Cinnamon Sugar Mixture: 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- Cheese: 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- Butter: 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- Vanilla Extract: 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine diced apples, cinnamon, sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix well and set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium heat until melted.
- Place one tortilla in the skillet and sprinkle half of the cheese evenly over the tortilla.
- Spread half of the apple mixture over the cheese, then top with the remaining cheese.
- Cover with a second tortilla and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until the bottom is golden brown.
- Carefully flip the quesadilla and add the remaining butter to the skillet. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the second side is golden and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the skillet and let cool for a minute before slicing into wedges.
- Repeat with the remaining tortillas and filling.
