A delicious and easy-to-make Apple & Cranberry Galette, perfect for holiday gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and diced
  • 6 to 8 tablespoons ice water
  • 3 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, salt, and sugar.
  3. Add diced butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in ice water, a tablespoon at a time, until the dough comes together.
  5. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  6. In another bowl, combine sliced apples, cranberries, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
  7. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a circle.
  8. Transfer the dough to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Place the apple and cranberry mixture in the center of the dough, leaving a border.
  10. Fold the edges of the dough over the filling.
  11. Brush the dough with beaten egg.
  12. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
  13. Let cool before serving.

  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
  • Can be made with other fruits like pears or blueberries.
