Description

Luxurious layers of Yukon Gold potatoes swathed in a rich, cheesy cream sauce, baked to golden perfection.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for greasing)
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and generously grease a casserole dish with butter.
  2. Peel and thinly slice the Yukon Gold potatoes.
  3. Combine the heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
  4. Layer half of the potato slices in the bottom of the prepared casserole dish.
  5. Drizzle half of the creamy mixture over the potatoes and sprinkle with half of the Gruyère cheese.
  6. Repeat with the remaining potatoes, pour over the rest of the cream mixture, and top with the remaining Gruyère and Parmesan cheese.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve.

Notes

For make-ahead, assemble the dish a day prior and refrigerate, adding extra baking time when cooking. Customize with onions or mushrooms for added flavor.
