- 2 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon butter (for greasing)
- Fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and generously grease a casserole dish with butter.
- Peel and thinly slice the Yukon Gold potatoes.
- Combine the heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
- Layer half of the potato slices in the bottom of the prepared casserole dish.
- Drizzle half of the creamy mixture over the potatoes and sprinkle with half of the Gruyère cheese.
- Repeat with the remaining potatoes, pour over the rest of the cream mixture, and top with the remaining Gruyère and Parmesan cheese.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve.
Notes
For make-ahead, assemble the dish a day prior and refrigerate, adding extra baking time when cooking. Customize with onions or mushrooms for added flavor.
