Description

Indulge in the savory delight of a Bacon Cheeseburger Rice Skillet, where tender rice meets juicy ground beef, crispy bacon, and melted cheese. Each bite offers a creamy texture with a burst of flavor, enhanced by the rich umami of the beef and the smoky crunch of bacon.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Protein:
    • 1 lb ground beef
    • 4 slices of bacon, chopped
  • Grains:
    • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • Dairy:
    • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
    • 1/2 cup milk
  • Vegetables:
    • 1 small onion, diced
    • 1 cup diced tomatoes (canned or fresh)
    • 1 cup beef broth
  • Spices:
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1 teaspoon onion powder
    • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside, leaving the drippings in the skillet.
  2. Add the diced onion to the skillet and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Stir in the ground beef, cooking until browned, about 5-6 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  4. Add the rice, diced tomatoes, beef broth, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes or until the rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
  7. Top with the crispy bacon before serving.

Notes

  • This dish can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • To reheat, add a splash of milk to loosen the rice and heat in a skillet over low heat.
  • For a healthier option, substitute ground turkey for beef and use low-fat cheese.
