Description
Deliciously flaky croissants filled with smoky ham, creamy cheddar, and a hint of mustard for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 mini croissants
- 4 slices smoked cheddar cheese, halved
- ¾ pound deli-cut ham
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
- 1 tablespoon honey
- ½ to 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 large egg white
- Poppy seeds, for sprinkling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
- Prepare the croissants by slicing each in half horizontally, creating pockets for the fillings.
- Layer a half slice of cheddar cheese on the bottom half of each croissant, followed by a slice of ham, then another half slice of cheese. Top with the other half of the croissant to form a sandwich.
- Whip the butter, yellow mustard, honey, and Worcestershire sauce in a mixing bowl until smooth.
- Spread the butter mixture inside the croissant sandwiches for added flavor.
- Assemble all sandwiches in the greased baking dish.
- Create an egg wash by whisking the egg white with a splash of water. Brush this mixture over the tops of the croissants, then sprinkle with poppy seeds.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes until cheese is melted and tops are golden brown.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
Assemble sandwiches a few hours ahead and refrigerate until ready to bake. Customize fillings as desired.
