Description

Deliciously flaky croissants filled with smoky ham, creamy cheddar, and a hint of mustard for a comforting meal.


Ingredients

  • 8 mini croissants
  • 4 slices smoked cheddar cheese, halved
  • ¾ pound deli-cut ham
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • ½ to 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 large egg white
  • Poppy seeds, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
  2. Prepare the croissants by slicing each in half horizontally, creating pockets for the fillings.
  3. Layer a half slice of cheddar cheese on the bottom half of each croissant, followed by a slice of ham, then another half slice of cheese. Top with the other half of the croissant to form a sandwich.
  4. Whip the butter, yellow mustard, honey, and Worcestershire sauce in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  5. Spread the butter mixture inside the croissant sandwiches for added flavor.
  6. Assemble all sandwiches in the greased baking dish.
  7. Create an egg wash by whisking the egg white with a splash of water. Brush this mixture over the tops of the croissants, then sprinkle with poppy seeds.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes until cheese is melted and tops are golden brown.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy!
