Description

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons milk (or half-and-half, or cream)
  • Food coloring, sprinkles, glitter (optional)
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your donut pan.
  2. Combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Mix the buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract in a separate medium bowl.
  4. Fold the wet ingredients into the dry mixture until just combined.
  5. Scoop the batter into a zip-top bag, snip the corner, and pipe into the donut pan.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until they spring back when pressed.
  7. Cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  8. Whisk together the confectioners’ sugar, vanilla extract, and milk to prepare the glaze.
  9. Dip the cooled donuts into the glaze and decorate with optional toppings.

Notes

For lighter donuts, be careful not to over-mix the batter.
