- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder

- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

- 2 cups confectioners’ sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
- 2 to 3 tablespoons milk (or half-and-half, or cream)
- Food coloring, sprinkles, glitter (optional)
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your donut pan.
- Combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
- Mix the buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract in a separate medium bowl.
- Fold the wet ingredients into the dry mixture until just combined.
- Scoop the batter into a zip-top bag, snip the corner, and pipe into the donut pan.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until they spring back when pressed.
- Cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Whisk together the confectioners’ sugar, vanilla extract, and milk to prepare the glaze.
- Dip the cooled donuts into the glaze and decorate with optional toppings.
Notes
For lighter donuts, be careful not to over-mix the batter.
