- 2 ripe bananas
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Mash the bananas in a large bowl until smooth.
- Mix the sugar, milk, egg, and vanilla extract into the banana puree.
- Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
- Mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy-bottomed pot to about 350°F (175°C).
- Fry spoonfuls of batter in batches for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- Serve warm with powdered sugar or your favorite icing.
Notes
