  • Yield: 8 servings

Description

Indulge in a decadent Brownie Trifle that layers rich, fudgy brownies with velvety chocolate mousse and fluffy whipped cream. Each spoonful offers a delightful contrast of textures, from the dense brownie chunks to the light, airy cream, all enhanced by a hint of vanilla and a sprinkle of chocolate shavings.

Ingredients

  • Brownies: 1 batch of homemade or store-bought brownies, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • Chocolate Mousse: 1 cup heavy cream, 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted and cooled, 2 tablespoons sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Whipped Cream: 1 cup heavy cream, 2 tablespoons powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Garnish: Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder for dusting

Instructions

  1. Prepare the brownies according to the recipe or package instructions, then allow them to cool completely before cutting them into cubes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar and vanilla, then fold in the melted chocolate until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
  4. In a large trifle dish or individual cups, layer the brownie cubes, followed by a layer of chocolate mousse, and then a layer of whipped cream.
  5. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of whipped cream on top.
  6. Chill the trifle in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
  7. Before serving, garnish with chocolate shavings or a dusting of cocoa powder.

Notes

  • This trifle can be made a day in advance; just keep it covered in the refrigerator.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • For a lighter version, substitute the heavy cream with whipped coconut cream.
