A delicious twist on the classic grilled cheese sandwich, featuring fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil.
Ingredients

- 2 slices of bread
- 1 cup fresh mozzarella, sliced
- 1 medium tomato, sliced
- Fresh basil leaves
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- Brush one side of each slice of bread with olive oil.
- Place one slice of bread, oiled side down, in the skillet.
- Layer the mozzarella, tomato slices, and basil on top of the bread in the skillet.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Top with the second slice of bread, oiled side up.
- Cook until the bottom slice is golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
- Carefully flip the sandwich and cook the other side until golden brown and the cheese is melted, about another 3-4 minutes.
- Remove from skillet, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add balsamic glaze before serving.
- Use sourdough or ciabatta bread for a different texture.
- Make it vegan by using plant-based cheese and bread.
