Description

Caramel Pecan Sticky Buns are a delightful treat featuring soft, sweet dough topped with a rich caramel sauce and crunchy pecans, perfect for breakfast or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup butter (for caramel)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Heat milk and butter until warm, then add to the dry ingredients.
  3. Add the egg and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  5. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter to make the caramel sauce.
  7. Spread the caramel sauce in a baking dish and sprinkle with chopped pecans.
  8. Roll out the dough, spread with butter, and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
  9. Roll the dough tightly and cut into slices.
  10. Place the slices in the baking dish over the caramel and pecans.
  11. Let rise for another 30 minutes.
  12. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  13. Invert onto a serving platter and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon to the dough.
  • These buns are best served warm.
