Cheddar and Bacon Turkey Melt on Sourdough

Description

A comforting sandwich with layers of succulent turkey, crispy bacon, and melted cheddar on toasted sourdough.


Ingredients

  • 2 slices sourdough bread
  • 4 ounces turkey breast
  • 2 slices cheddar cheese
  • 2 slices cooked bacon
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Spread mayonnaise on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
  2. Dollop Dijon mustard on top of the mayonnaise on one slice.
  3. Layer cheddar cheese on top of the mustard-coated bread.
  4. Add crispy bacon over the cheese.
  5. Top with turkey breast, spreading it out evenly.
  6. Close the sandwich with the second slice of sourdough, mayo side in.
  7. Heat skillet over medium heat and add butter.
  8. Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook for 3 to 4 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Flip the sandwich and cook for another 3 to 4 minutes.
  10. Remove the sandwich once both sides are golden and cheese is melted.
  11. Let it rest before slicing and serving.

Notes

For extra crispiness, consider adding a sprinkle of garlic powder to the butter.
