Ingredients

- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 3/4 cup white sugar for rolling
- 1 cup chocolate kisses, unwrapped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and 1 1/2 cups sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract.
- Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
- Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls, and roll in the remaining 3/4 cup sugar.
- Place the balls onto ungreased cookie sheets, about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden.
- Remove from oven and immediately press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie.
- Allow to cool on wire racks.
Notes
- For a festive touch, you can use colored sugar for rolling the cookie dough.
- Store cookies in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
