This Christmas Tree Cake Dip is a delightful blend of creamy sweetness and festive flavors, reminiscent of a classic holiday cake. With its velvety texture and hints of vanilla and almond, each bite is a celebration of the season, perfect for spreading on cookies or enjoying with fruit.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Base:
    • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
    • 1 cup powdered sugar
    • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • Flavoring:
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • 1/2 tsp almond extract
  • Mix-ins:
    • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
    • 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies
  • Toppings:
    • Green sprinkles for decoration
    • Red and white candy canes, crushed

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth, about 2 minutes.
  2. Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing until fully incorporated and creamy.
  3. Stir in the sour cream, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined.
  4. Fold in the mini chocolate chips and crushed peppermint candies gently with a spatula.
  5. Transfer the dip to a festive serving bowl and use a spatula to create a tree shape, if desired.
  6. Sprinkle green sprinkles on top to resemble a Christmas tree and add crushed candy canes for decoration.
  7. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.

Notes

  • This dip can be made a day in advance; just cover it tightly and store it in the refrigerator.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • For a lighter version, substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream.
