Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture, stirring until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.
  6. Sprinkle the cinnamon, brown sugar, and raisins evenly over the dough.
  7. Roll the dough tightly into a log and pinch the seams to seal.
  8. Place the log seam-side down in a greased loaf pan and let it rise for another 30-45 minutes.
  9. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  10. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
