  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: Mix flour, granulated sugar, yeast, and salt in a bowl. Heat milk and 2 tablespoons of melted butter, then pour into dry ingredients. Stir until combined, add egg, and knead until smooth. Let rise covered for 1 hour.
  2. Create the Filling: Roll dough into a rectangle and spread softened butter. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon, sprinkling it over the buttered dough.
  3. Shape the Twists: Cut dough into strips and twist each one. Place onto a prepared baking sheet and let rise for 20 minutes.
  4. Bake to Perfection: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake twists for 15-20 minutes until golden.
  5. Drizzle with Glaze: Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract for glaze. Drizzle over warm twists.
