- 1/2 cup milk

- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: Mix flour, granulated sugar, yeast, and salt in a bowl. Heat milk and 2 tablespoons of melted butter, then pour into dry ingredients. Stir until combined, add egg, and knead until smooth. Let rise covered for 1 hour.
- Create the Filling: Roll dough into a rectangle and spread softened butter. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon, sprinkling it over the buttered dough.
- Shape the Twists: Cut dough into strips and twist each one. Place onto a prepared baking sheet and let rise for 20 minutes.
- Bake to Perfection: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake twists for 15-20 minutes until golden.
- Drizzle with Glaze: Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract for glaze. Drizzle over warm twists.

For a vegan option, substitute dairy ingredients with plant-based options. These twists can be made ahead and refrigerated overnight.
