Description
A delightful twist on classic cinnamon rolls and focaccia, featuring fluffy layers of dough topped with a sweet cinnamon and brown sugar mixture.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 packet instant yeast
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a mixing bowl. Let sit for about 5 minutes until bubbly.
- Mix in flour, melted butter, and salt until a dough forms. Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Allow the dough to rise in a warm spot, covered with a towel, for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle on a lightly floured surface, about 1/4-inch thick.
- Spread the cinnamon and brown sugar mixture evenly over the rolled-out dough.
- Roll the dough tightly from one long end to the other and slice into even rolls about 1.5 inches thick.
- Let the rolls rise again for another 30 minutes in a greased pan.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for the glaze and drizzle over warm focaccia after baking.
Notes
For a gluten-free option, use a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend. Patience is key for allowing the dough to rise properly.
