- 2 pounds of round steak
- 1 cup of flour
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
- 2 cups of beef broth
- 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
- 1 onion, sliced
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a shallow dish, mix flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Dredge the round steak in the flour mixture until well coated.
- In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat and brown the steak on both sides.
- Remove the steak and set aside. In the same skillet, sauté the sliced onion until translucent.
- Add the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce to the skillet, stirring to combine.
- Return the steak to the skillet, cover, and transfer to the oven.
- Bake for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the steak is tender.
- Serve hot with gravy over mashed potatoes or rice.
Notes
- For a thicker gravy, you can mix a tablespoon of cornstarch with water and add it to the gravy during the last 10 minutes of cooking.
- Feel free to add vegetables like carrots or potatoes for a complete meal.
