Ingredients

  • Chicken Drumsticks: 8 pieces, skin-on, bone-in
  • Paprika: 2 tablespoons, smoked for depth
  • Garlic: 4 cloves, minced
  • Onion: 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Heavy Cream: 1 cup, for creaminess
  • Chicken Broth: 1 cup, low-sodium
  • Olive Oil: 2 tablespoons, for sautéing
  • Salt: 1 teaspoon, to taste
  • Pepper: 1/2 teaspoon, freshly ground
  • Steamed Rice: 2 cups, cooked

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and smoked paprika, stirring for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Season the chicken drumsticks with salt and pepper, then add them to the skillet, browning on all sides for about 8-10 minutes.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer, then stir in the heavy cream.
  6. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  7. While the chicken is baking, prepare the steamed rice according to package instructions.
  8. Once done, let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving over a bed of steamed rice.
