Ingredients

  • Pasta: 12 oz penne pasta, cooked al dente
  • Cheese: 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Meat: 1 cup cooked Italian sausage, crumbled
  • Vegetables: 1 cup bell peppers, diced; 1 cup mushrooms, sliced; 1/2 cup red onion, diced
  • Tomato Sauce: 2 cups marinara sauce
  • Seasonings: 1 tsp Italian seasoning, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, marinara sauce, Italian sausage, bell peppers, mushrooms, red onion, and seasonings.
  3. Stir in 1 1/2 cups of mozzarella cheese and 1 cup of Parmesan cheese until well mixed.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  5. Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes before serving.
