Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Cake:
    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
    • 1 cup sour cream
    • 3 large eggs
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • For the Topping:
    • 1/2 cup brown sugar
    • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
    • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the sour cream, until just combined.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, chopped nuts, and cinnamon for the topping.
  7. Pour half of the cake batter into a greased bundt pan, sprinkle half of the topping mixture, then add the remaining batter and top with the rest of the topping.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack to cool completely.
