- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
- Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Once risen, punch down the dough and spread it onto a greased baking sheet.
- Use your fingers to create dimples in the dough, then brush with olive oil and sprinkle with minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, and rosemary.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add more herbs like thyme or oregano.
- This focaccia is best served warm.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
