- 8 to 10-pound precooked spiral ham (bone-in)
- 1/2 cup water
- 4 to 5 large green apples (such as Granny Smith)
- 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar (packed)
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup real maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon reduced sodium soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the ham by removing the bottom plastic and placing it in a large roasting pan with 1/2 cup of water.
- Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples.
- Tuck half of the apple slices into the spiral cuts of the ham.
- Combine the remaining ingredients in a small saucepan and bring to a gentle boil.
- Brush or pour half of the glaze over the ham, cover loosely with foil, and bake for one hour.
- Remove the ham, brush with the second half of the saved glaze, and bake uncovered for an additional 30 minutes.
- Brush the remaining glaze over the ham and bake for another 15-20 minutes until caramelized.
- Rest the ham for 20-30 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Make your glaze in advance for easier preparation. Always ensure your ham is heated to an internal temperature of 140°F.
