Description

Delicious and healthy gluten-free apple oatmeal bars that are perfect for breakfast or a snack.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups gluten-free rolled oats
  • 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup almond butter
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup diced apples
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the rolled oats, applesauce, honey or maple syrup, almond butter, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  3. Fold in the diced apples and chopped nuts if using.
  4. Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  6. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
  • These bars can be frozen for longer storage.
