Description

A delightful dish of tender chicken breasts stuffed with savory ham and creamy Swiss cheese, encased in a crunchy, golden panko crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 slices of ham
  • 4 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  3. Layer a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese on each chicken breast.
  4. Roll the chicken up tightly, securing with toothpicks if necessary.
  5. Set up your breading station with bowls for flour, beaten eggs, and panko breadcrumbs.
  6. Dredge each roll in flour, then dip in egg, and coat with panko.
  7. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  8. Brown each chicken roll on all sides until golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  9. Transfer to a baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  10. Remove toothpicks before serving.

Notes

For a gluten-free option, substitute with gluten-free breadcrumbs and flour. To retain juiciness, consider brining the chicken before preparation.
