- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 4 slices of ham
- 4 slices of Swiss cheese
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for frying
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Layer a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese on each chicken breast.
- Roll the chicken up tightly, securing with toothpicks if necessary.
- Set up your breading station with bowls for flour, beaten eggs, and panko breadcrumbs.
- Dredge each roll in flour, then dip in egg, and coat with panko.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Brown each chicken roll on all sides until golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Transfer to a baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Remove toothpicks before serving.
Notes
For a gluten-free option, substitute with gluten-free breadcrumbs and flour. To retain juiciness, consider brining the chicken before preparation.
