Description

Green Bean Bundles with Bacon offer a delightful contrast of textures, with the crisp-tender green beans wrapped in savory, crispy bacon. Each bite bursts with a smoky flavor, enhanced by a hint of garlic and a touch of sweetness from the brown sugar glaze.

Ingredients

  • Fresh Green Beans: 1 pound, trimmed
  • Bacon: 8 slices, cut in half
  • Brown Sugar: 1/4 cup
  • Garlic Powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Olive Oil: 2 tablespoons
  • Salt: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Pepper: 1/4 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the trimmed green beans with olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until evenly coated.
  3. Take a handful of green beans (about 5-6) and wrap them with a half slice of bacon, securing with a toothpick if necessary.
  4. Place the bundles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the bundles.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the green beans are tender.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Make-ahead: You can prepare the bundles a day in advance and store them in the refrigerator before baking.
  • Storage: Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Substitutions: For a healthier option, turkey bacon can be used instead of regular bacon.
