Description

Grinch Macarons are festive, vibrant green treats inspired by the beloved Dr. Seuss character, perfect for holiday celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 3/4 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 large egg whites
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon green food coloring
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (for filling)
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • Red candy hearts (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, sift together almond flour and powdered sugar.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until foamy, then gradually add granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
  4. Fold in the almond flour mixture and green food coloring until well combined.
  5. Pipe small circles onto the prepared baking sheet and let them sit for 30 minutes to form a skin.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes, then let cool completely.
  7. For the filling, beat softened butter, powdered sugar, and peppermint extract until smooth.
  8. Sandwich the macarons with the filling and decorate with red candy hearts.
