Description

Ingredients

  • Ground Beef: 1 pound, preferably 80/20 for optimal flavor and juiciness
  • Brussels Sprouts: 1 pound, trimmed and halved
  • Garlic: 3 cloves, minced
  • Onion: 1 medium, diced
  • Olive Oil: 2 tablespoons, for sautéing
  • Salt: 1 teaspoon, to taste
  • Pepper: 1/2 teaspoon, to taste
  • Red Pepper Flakes: 1/4 teaspoon, optional for heat
  • Parmesan Cheese: 1/4 cup, grated for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the diced onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula, and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  5. Season the beef with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes, if using.
  6. In a separate pan, heat the remaining tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat.
  7. Add the halved Brussels sprouts, cut side down, and cook for 5-6 minutes until they are golden brown and crispy.
  8. Combine the Brussels sprouts with the ground beef mixture, tossing to combine, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  9. Remove from heat and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese before serving.
