Description

Delightful homemade sourdough Runzas filled with savory beef, cabbage, and cheese, wrapped in a tangy crust, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups Sourdough Bread
  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 1 cup Cabbage, shredded
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 1 cup Cheese, shredded (Cheddar or your choice)
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until browned.
  3. Add chopped onions and shredded cabbage; cook until softened, about 5–7 minutes.
  4. Roll out the sourdough into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick, and cut into 6–8 rectangles.
  5. Place a spoonful of the beef mixture on each rectangle and top with cheese.
  6. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal.
  7. Bake on a parchment-lined baking sheet for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

These Runzas can be prepared in advance and frozen. Use air fryer for a quicker cooking method.
