Ingredients

  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 1/2 cups sourdough starter
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the bread flour, rolled oats, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, mix the sourdough starter, honey, and water until well combined.
  3. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 4-6 hours or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  7. Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf.
  8. Place the loaf in a greased loaf pan and let it rise for another 1-2 hours.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  10. Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

  • For a sweeter bread, add more honey to taste.
  • Store in an airtight container to keep it fresh.
  • This bread can be frozen for longer storage.
