Description
A deliciously crispy fried chicken sandwich drizzled with spicy jalapeno honey for a perfect balance of heat and sweetness.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless chicken thighs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 4 sandwich buns
- Leafy greens (lettuce or spinach)
- Pickles
- 1/2 cup honey
- 2–3 jalapenos, sliced
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken thighs in buttermilk for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- In a bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
- Remove chicken from buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then coat in the flour mixture.
- Fry the chicken in hot oil until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side.
- In a small saucepan, heat honey and add sliced jalapenos, simmering for a few minutes.
- Assemble the sandwich by placing fried chicken on a bun, drizzling with jalapeno honey, and adding leafy greens and pickles.
- Top with the other half of the bun and serve hot.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of jalapenos in the honey to control the spice level.
- For extra crunch, consider adding coleslaw to the sandwich.
- This sandwich pairs well with a side of fries or potato wedges.
