Description

A simple and delicious casserole that combines the flavors of traditional cabbage rolls without the hassle of rolling them.


Ingredients

  • 1 medium head of cabbage, chopped
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and onion over medium heat until the meat is no longer pink.
  3. Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet and cook until it begins to soften.
  4. Stir in the cooked rice, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender.

  • Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or carrots for extra flavor.
  • This dish can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
