Description

A delicious low carb twist on the classic Nashville hot chicken, these bacon-wrapped mozzarella sticks are spicy, cheesy, and perfect for a snack or appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese sticks
  • 8 slices of bacon
  • 1 tablespoon Nashville hot chicken seasoning
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Wrap each mozzarella stick with a slice of bacon, securing the ends with toothpicks if necessary.
  3. In a bowl, mix the almond flour and grated Parmesan cheese.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the egg and water.
  5. Dip each bacon-wrapped mozzarella stick into the egg mixture, then coat with the almond flour and Parmesan mixture.
  6. Place the coated sticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Sprinkle the Nashville hot chicken seasoning over the sticks.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the bacon is crispy and the cheese is melted.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For extra heat, add more Nashville hot seasoning.
  • Serve with a low carb dipping sauce if desired.
  • These can be made ahead of time and frozen before baking.
