- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, butter, and brown sugar until crumbly.
- Press the mixture into the bottom of a greased 9×9 inch baking pan.
- Bake for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven.
- In another bowl, whisk together maple syrup, eggs, salt, and vanilla extract.
- Stir in the chopped pecans.
- Pour the pecan mixture over the baked crust.
- Bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until set.
- Allow to cool before cutting into bars.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark maple syrup.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- These bars can be served warm or chilled.
