- 1 lb steak (sirloin or flank steak)
- 1 cup rice (preferably jasmine or basmati)
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup honey BBQ sauce
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Season the steak generously with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Cook the steak for 3-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Add rice, beef broth, and honey BBQ sauce to the skillet and stir to combine.
- Simmer by bringing to a boil, then cover and reduce heat to simmer for 15-20 minutes.
- Incorporate the heavy cream and stir gently until creamy.
- Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
Notes
Use room temperature steak for a better sear. Rinse rice to prevent stickiness.
