Description
A delightful appetizer featuring fresh peaches on toasted bread, drizzled with a sweet and tangy strawberry-balsamic glaze.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 ripe peaches, diced
- 1 cup strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 baguette, sliced
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a saucepan, combine sliced strawberries, balsamic vinegar, and honey. Cook over medium heat until the strawberries break down and the mixture thickens, about 10 minutes.
- While the glaze is cooking, arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet and toast in the oven until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix diced peaches with chopped basil, salt, and pepper.
- Once the glaze is ready, remove it from heat and let it cool slightly.
- Top each toasted baguette slice with the peach mixture and drizzle with the strawberry-balsamic glaze.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- For a vegan version, substitute honey with maple syrup.
- Make sure to use ripe peaches for the best flavor.
- This dish can be served as an appetizer or a light snack.
