    • 1 1/2 cups pecans, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, softened butter, sugar, and salt to form a crumbly dough.
  3. Press the dough evenly into the bottom of a greased 9×9 inch baking pan.
  4. Bake the crust for 15 minutes or until lightly golden.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the corn syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  6. Stir in the chopped pecans until evenly distributed.
  7. Pour the filling over the pre-baked crust and spread it evenly.
  8. Bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and slightly puffed.
  9. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
