Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring until smooth.
  3. Pour the mixture into a greased cake pan and sprinkle the pecans evenly over the top.
  4. In a mixing bowl, cream together the granulated sugar and remaining butter until light and fluffy.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla.
  6. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  7. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, and mix until just combined.

  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Let the cake cool for 10 minutes before inverting onto a serving plate.
