- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup milk
- Green apple flavored frosting
- Red candy melts (for decoration)
- Chocolate sprinkles (for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the softened butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
- Fill each cupcake liner about 2/3 full with the batter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cupcakes to cool completely before frosting.
- Pipe the green apple flavored frosting on top of each cupcake.
- Melt the red candy melts and drizzle over the frosted cupcakes to create a ‘poison’ effect.
- Sprinkle chocolate sprinkles on top for added decoration.
Notes
- For a more intense apple flavor, consider adding apple extract to the frosting.
- These cupcakes can be made a day in advance and stored in an airtight container.
