Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef chuck roast
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 sandwich rolls
  • Coleslaw (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. In a large Dutch oven, heat some oil over medium heat and brown the beef chuck roast on all sides.
  3. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until softened.
  4. Pour in the beef broth, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  5. Cover and transfer to the oven, cooking for about 3-4 hours until the beef is tender and easily shredded.
  6. Remove the beef from the pot and shred it with two forks.
  7. Return the shredded beef to the pot and mix it with the sauce.
  8. Serve the pulled beef on sandwich rolls, topped with coleslaw if desired.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the beef overnight with spices.
  • Feel free to adjust the barbecue sauce to your taste.
  • This recipe can be made in a slow cooker on low for 8 hours.
