- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 apple, peeled and diced
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup (for glaze)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let it sit for 5 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Add pumpkin puree, melted butter, egg, and the yeast mixture to the dry ingredients; mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread with butter, and sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon, and diced apples.
- Roll the dough tightly and cut into rolls.
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- For the glaze, mix powdered sugar and maple syrup until smooth and drizzle over warm rolls.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use brown butter in the glaze.
- These rolls can be made ahead and frozen before baking.
