- 1 box of chocolate cake mix
- 1 cup of canned pumpkin
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup of water
- 1 cup of powdered sugar
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 1/2 cup of chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, canned pumpkin, eggs, vegetable oil, and water. Mix until well combined.
- In another bowl, beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and pumpkin pie spice until smooth.
- Pour half of the chocolate cake batter into the prepared pan.
- Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the batter, then pour the remaining chocolate batter on top.
- Use a knife to swirl the cream cheese mixture into the chocolate batter.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate cake mix.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
- This cake can be served warm or cold.
