Description

These Salmon Balls with Avocado Sauce are a delightful fusion of flavors and textures. The crispy exterior gives way to a tender, juicy center, while the creamy avocado sauce adds a rich, buttery finish that elevates each bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Salmon Balls:
    • 1 lb fresh salmon fillet, skin removed and diced
    • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
    • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
    • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
    • 1 large egg, beaten
    • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for frying)
  • For the Avocado Sauce:
    • 1 ripe avocado
    • 2 tablespoons lime juice
    • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
    • 1 clove garlic, minced
    • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the diced salmon, breadcrumbs, green onions, mayonnaise, beaten egg, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the salmon balls in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan.
  4. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. They should be firm to the touch.
  5. While the salmon balls are cooking, prepare the avocado sauce by blending the avocado, lime juice, Greek yogurt, minced garlic, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  6. Once the salmon balls are cooked, remove them from the skillet and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve warm with the avocado sauce drizzled on top or on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • Make-ahead: The salmon mixture can be prepared and refrigerated for up to 24 hours before cooking.
  • Storage: Store leftover salmon balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Substitutions: Use canned salmon for a quicker option, or substitute Greek yogurt with sour cream for the sauce.
