Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sourdough discard
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 egg (for egg wash, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Combine the flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder in a mixing bowl.
  3. Add in the sourdough discard, warm water, and olive oil.
  4. Mix with a spatula until a rough dough forms.
  5. Knead the dough gently for about 2-3 minutes until smooth.
  6. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and shape them into buns.
  7. Place the buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Brush the tops with an egg wash, if desired.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool before slicing and serving.
