- 1 cup sourdough discard
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 egg (for egg wash, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Combine the flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder in a mixing bowl.
- Add in the sourdough discard, warm water, and olive oil.
- Mix with a spatula until a rough dough forms.
- Knead the dough gently for about 2-3 minutes until smooth.
- Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and shape them into buns.
- Place the buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the tops with an egg wash, if desired.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool before slicing and serving.
