Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ribeye or strip steaks (1-inch thick)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp butter (for basting)
- ½ lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- Juice of ½ lemon
- 1 tbsp butter (for sauce)
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley (for garnish)
- Mashed potatoes, pasta, or rice for serving
- Steamed asparagus, green beans, or roasted broccoli for serving
- Lemon wedges for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the steaks by patting them dry and seasoning both sides with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Let sit for 15 minutes.
- Sear the steaks in hot olive oil for 3–4 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Baste with butter in the last minute. Remove and let rest.
- Cook the shrimp in the same skillet with olive oil, seasoning with salt and garlic powder until pink and opaque. Add lemon juice and set aside.
- Make the creamy garlic sauce by melting butter, sautéing garlic, adding heavy cream and simmering with Parmesan and Italian seasoning for 3–5 minutes. Season to taste.
- Assemble by slicing rested steak, plating with shrimp, and spoons with creamy sauce. Garnish with parsley.
Notes
Make the garlic sauce in advance and store it in the fridge. To avoid overcooking, use a meat thermometer.
