Thai Basil Beef Rolls are a delightful fusion of juicy, marinated beef wrapped in crispy rice paper, delivering a burst of fresh flavors with every bite. The aromatic notes of basil and the savory umami from the beef create a tantalizing experience that is both satisfying and refreshing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Beef Marinade:
    • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
    • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
    • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
    • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
    • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • Rolls:
    • 10 rice paper wrappers
    • 1 cup fresh Thai basil leaves
    • 1 cup shredded carrots
    • 1 cup cucumber, julienned
    • 1 cup bean sprouts
  • Dipping Sauce:
    • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
    • 1 tablespoon peanut butter
    • 1 tablespoon lime juice
    • 1 teaspoon chili paste (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine all marinade ingredients and add the sliced flank steak. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the marinated beef for 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove from heat and let cool.
  3. Prepare a shallow dish with warm water. Dip one rice paper wrapper in the water for about 10 seconds until soft.
  4. Place the softened wrapper on a clean surface and layer with a few basil leaves, a small amount of beef, carrots, cucumber, and bean sprouts.
  5. Fold the sides of the wrapper over the filling, then roll tightly from the bottom to the top. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
  6. For the dipping sauce, mix hoisin sauce, peanut butter, lime juice, and chili paste in a small bowl until smooth.
  7. Serve the rolls with the dipping sauce on the side.
