- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons browned butter
- 1–2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your 9×13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Combine in a large bowl the mashed bananas, melted butter, granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Add the baking soda and salt, mixing until evenly distributed.
- Gradually introduce the flour, folding it until just combined; avoid overmixing.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Prepare the glaze by whisking together the browned butter, powdered sugar, and milk until the desired consistency.
- Once cooled, drizzle the glaze over the bars and cut into squares to serve.
Notes
These banana bars can be made a day in advance for enhanced banana flavor. Customize them by adding nuts or chocolate chips!
