- 8 oz pasta
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup Gruyère cheese, grated
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 tsp thyme (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente, then drain.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and add the sliced onions. Cook until caramelized, about 20-25 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked pasta, caramelized onions, heavy cream, Gruyère cheese, salt, pepper, and thyme.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and top with Parmesan cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden and bubbly.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
