Description
Delight in the warm, homemade Cheddar Cheese Mini Sourdough, featuring a golden-brown crust and soft, airy interior complemented by rich, sharp melted cheddar.
Ingredients
Scale
- 350 g strong white bread flour
- 250 g water
- 88 g active sourdough starter
- Sharp cheddar cheese (to taste)
- Salt (to taste)
Instructions
- Mix your ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the strong white bread flour with water and your active sourdough starter. Stir until a rough dough forms.
- Knead the dough: Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead it for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Let it ferment: Place the dough back in the mixing bowl, cover it with a damp towel, and allow it to ferment at room temperature for several hours until it has roughly doubled in size.
- Add cheese and salt: Once fermented, gently fold in the sharp cheddar cheese and a sprinkle of salt.
- Shape the loaves: Divide the dough into small portions, shaping them into mini loaves or rounds.
- Second rise: Place the shaped loaves on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, cover, and let them rise for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven: While the loaves are rising, preheat your oven to around 220°C (428°F).
- Bake to perfection: Bake the mini loaves for 12-15 minutes, or until they turn a deep golden brown.
- Cool and enjoy: Let them cool on a wire rack before serving warm.
