- 1 lb ground beef
- 8 small flour tortillas
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp tomato purée or tomato paste
- 1/2 cup finely diced onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 tomato, diced
- Sour cream, salsa, or hot sauce
- Fresh cilantro (optional)
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and diced onion. Cook until browned, about 5–7 minutes.
- Stir in minced garlic, chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Cook for about 1 minute.
- Pour in the tomato purée and water. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 3–5 minutes.
- Warm the tortillas until pliable. Spoon beef mixture onto one half of each tortilla, sprinkle with cheese, and fold.
- Heat a thin layer of oil in a skillet. Fry tacos for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Transfer crispy tacos to a plate lined with paper towels.
- Stuff with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sour cream, salsa, and cilantro to taste.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!

Customize your tacos with different meats or toppings based on preference. To maintain crunchiness, warm tortillas prior to serving.
